Fancy Mirror Privacy Policy
Last updated October 4, 2026
Fancy Mirror collects no personal data. We have no servers, so there is nowhere for it to go.
What we collect
- No account, sign-in, email or name is required.
- No analytics, crash reporting, ads or tracking of any kind.
- We never receive your screen, audio or videos.
How the app uses your network
- It announces itself on your local Wi-Fi (mDNS / Bonjour) so your Apple devices can find it.
- Screen, audio and video travel directly from your Apple device to the TV over your own network. They never pass through us.
- When you send an AirPlay video (for example from Safari), the TV downloads that video from the address your Apple device provides, the same way your device would.
Data stored on the TV
The device name, the optional PIN and your settings are stored on the TV only. Uninstalling the app removes them.
Permissions
- Network and Wi-Fi: to be found by and receive streams from devices on your network.
- Start on boot and foreground service: so the TV is ready to receive without opening the app.
- Notifications: to show that the receiver is running.
- Display over other apps: to open the mirrored screen when a session starts.
Protected content
DRM-protected content (Apple TV app, Netflix and similar) is blocked by the sending device and cannot be mirrored.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
